KIOSK HARDWARE COMPONENTS

This section of the course contains the following:

  • List of Various Kiosk Hardware Components
  • Hardware Components: Pros & Cons

bullet LIST OF KIOSK HARDWARE COMPONENTS

As stated before, every other hardware component (besides the computer / monitor / pointing device) may be determined and/or defined by the application. In other words, before you decide to include any other hardware device, you really need to determine the purpose of the application.

In a way, this is somewhat like the "chicken and the egg" (which comes first?). It may be that in order to design your application, you need to at least be familiar with the various kiosk hardware available, which may include one or more of the following components:

Printer
Card Reader
Scanner
Keyboard
Video Camera
Track Ball
Coin Acceptor
Motion Sensor
Overhead Monitor
Communication Link
